Community Library Project

Our community library...
Here at Go Tico!, community engagement is one of the most important values our company holds. That's why we started a community library project in our town of La Flor as a way to foster the love of reading to local Costa Rican kids. Here in Costa Rica, children do not have easy access to public libraries, reading is not a part of most school curriculum, and those people who love reading find the cost of purchasing books inaccessible. We firmly believe in the power of reading to uplift and transform lives as well as encourage kids to dream, connect with new ideas, and fuel their creativity. Our community library provides a free space for local residents, children and adults alike, to read, learn, and travel to new and exciting places in the pages of their books. However, these books are not easy to come by, as they are not readily available in our region and are often incredibly unaffordable.
How You Can Help
If you live in the area of Madison, Wisconsin (USA), you can help us by collecting books in Spanish at all reading levels. We are happy to come pick up donations of new or used books that can be used in the library. Send us an email here if you are interested in scheduling a book pick up date or want to learn more about our community library project. You can also print the green poster download to the right and share it around your community to spread the word!
If you are outside of the Madison region, you can help us by starting an online fundraiser today! Simply print out the orange poster download to the right and share it in your community. We appreciate any and all efforts to help give residents in our rural communities the opportunity to learn and explore through books.
